Fantasy Short Stories and Poems
Many of my stories fall within the fantasy genre, and a variety of them can be found on this site. Some of them are stand-alones, while others are set in worlds used for several stories.
Token Wolf on Council and Before We Were People are both set in the High Kingdom universe, and both of them concern the early history of the warwolves and their struggle to be accepted as sentient people by the other peoples living in their world.
The Sorceress of Balmaghi and Pegasi Again are set in Taras, in the realm of Balmaghi. These stories make fun of standard fantasy tropes concerning heros, dragons, and sorceresses.
Lighting Fires, Dragons in the Village and The Courage of the Chickens are both stand-alone stories at the moment. Lighting Fires describes how a general avoided his Emperor’s command to burn a library, while Dragons in the Village pokes fun at stereotypes about peasants, and knights and The Courage of the Chickens involves an encounter with a sentient storm with the power to grant wishes – or kill.
